Colombia to host WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup 2024 from 16 to 25 August

Barranquilla will be the main venue with the finals scheduled at the Edgar Renteria Stadium.

The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) announced that Colombia will host the U-15 Baseball World Cup 2024 from 16 to 25 August. Barranquilla will be the main venue with the Edgar Renteria Stadium hosting the medal games.

“We remember Barranquilla as a perfect host of the WBSC U-23 Baseball World Cup 2018,” commented WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari. “The atmosphere during the medal games at the Edgar Renteria Stadium was exceptional and we anticipate another great tournament.”

“It will be a pleasure for Colombia, Barranquilla and the Colombian Baseball Federation to host the VI U-15 Baseball World Cup,” said Mauricio Char, President of the Colombia Baseball Federation. “We are sure that the Colombian fans will come together to support this important event.”

Six teams have qualified for the U-15 Baseball World Cup 2024 so far:

Africa (1): No. 34 South Africa
Asia (2No. 5 Chinese Taipei, No. 1 Japan
Europe (2No. 7 Netherlands, No. 14 Italy
Oceania (1No. 33 Guam

Five teams will earn their spot in the U-15 World Cup in the WBSC Americas Qualifier, which is currently taking place in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, through Thursday, 21 March.

One wild card will complete the set of participants.

There have been 19 previous editions of the WBSC U-15 Baseball World Cup starting in 1989 with USA having won the last tournament in 2022.
