The second World Baseball Softball Confederation – Softball Asia (WBSC-SA) Umpires Certification Course for the year started on June 10 in the Puli Township of Nantao district in Chinese Taipei and will end with the participants doing their practical examination at the U15 Women’s Softball Asia Cup starting tomorrow and ending on Saturday.
The Asia Cup which will be played at the Fu-Hsing Softball Stadium, will also serve as the qualifier for the World Cup where the two teams from the seven countries competing – Hong Kong China, India, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Singapore and host Chinese Taipei – will qualify for the global competition.
A total of 11 participants – nine from Chinese Taipei and two from Hong Kong – are attending the umpires certification course conducted by WBSC’s course conductors, Wiremu Tamaki from New Zealand, Paulo Tabirara from Philippines and Rosli Ismail from Malaysia.
