Yan Fang, WBSC Softball Hall of Famer, former Chinese Softball Team Captain, silver medalist of Atlanta Olympic Games, founder of Yan Fang Softball Fund passed away on Feb. 8, 2020 after a long time fighting with cancer.
Yan Fang, born in Beijing in 1969 was an outstanding female softball player, former captain of Chinese national women’s softball team. In 1996, she won the silver medal for women’s softball in the Atlanta Olympic Games and finished 4th in the Sydney Olympic Games. Moreover, she won three consecutive champions in the Asian Games in 1990, 1994 and 1998. Moreover, she won lots of awards in many national and international tournaments.
In 2019, Yan Fang established the first ever Softball Fund with the title of her name. Her donation will be helpful to the development of youth softball and promote prosperity and development of Chinese softball.
