Playoff day at The World Games 2025 Women’s Softball competition was heavily disrupted by rain on Saturday in Chengdu, China, with only two of the six scheduled games completed.
The semifinals — Japan vs. USA and Chinese Taipei vs. Canada — have been postponed and will now be played simultaneously on Sunday at 9 a.m. local time. The Bronze Medal Game and Gold Medal Game will follow at noon, on Field 2 and Field 1 respectively.
In the morning Placement Round action, Puerto Rico defeated the Netherlands, 3-1, while Australia walked off China, 4-3. The winners were set to meet later on Saturday for fifth place, and the defeated teams for seventh, but both games were cancelled due to the weather.
Final standings will be confirmed after Sunday’s medal games are completed.
