Softball Asia announced the schedule of the Women’s Softball Asia Cup 2023, the last qualification tournament for the XVII WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup, along with a new logo of the tournament. The continental event will take place at LNG Sports Town in Incheon, Korea, from 2-8 April.
Nine participating teams will compete for the Asian title: World No. 2 Japan; No. 3 Chinese Taipei; No. 13 China; No. 30 Philippines; No. 35 Korea; No. 38 Hong Kong China; No. 42 Singapore; No. 46 Thailand and No. 53 India.
The top three teams in the final standings will advance to the XVII WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup next July in Europe
The teams will open the tournament with a round robin, with the top four teams in the standings advancing to the semifinals (first place vs fourth place; second place vs third place) on April 7. The bronze medal game, with a berth in the World Cup at stake, will be played on April 8 at 8:30 local time; while the final is scheduled at 11:00.
In addition, Softball Asia presented the new logo for the Women’s Softball Asia Cups, in all its categories. The continetal body has standardised the tournament logos for all the Asia Cups, using one logo for the three women’s events, and another one for the three men’s events.
